HOW DOES THIS ACTIVITY TIE IN WITH THE THEME SELECTED ABOVE? |
The goals of Rotary Central’s health screening events are to educate members of the community regarding chronic lifestyle diseases, implement early identification of these diseases, sourcing and referring these individuals to applicable medical institutions for treatment. |
DESCRIBE BRIEFLY THE IMPACT OF YOUR ACTIVITY(S) IN THE COMMUNITY. |
Hundreds of persons were given the opportunity to live a better quality of health, thereby, expanding their lifespan because of the early detection of their abnormal blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol levels and unhealthy body mass index. Everyone who utilized the screenings benefited, but thankfully, a set of persons who really benefited from the free health screenings, were the uninsured who would not normally seek screenings of chronic conditions which are usually identified at a moderately late stage…after these conditions have already affected major organs. A healthy person is a member of a family; a healthy family is a part of a community; a healthy community is a part of a country which is apart of the world. Therefore, Rotary Central’s health screening events don’t only have a positive impact on individuals, but has extended far beyond the screening location. |
