PROJECT SUMMARY | The event aimed to promote literacy among young children and to celebrate International Literacy Day. The theme of the event was Literacy and Skills Development in keeping with this year’s literacy theme. Several individuals and Rotarians read stories and sang songs with the children. There were also two professions represented (architect and police officer) to promote the skills development component of the theme.
The community showed overwhelming support of this event! George Town Public Library had never been so packed. By our count there were over 60 children present plus parents and volunteers. All had a wonderful time! |
