YOUNGEST PRESIDENT OF ROTARY CENTRAL INSTALLED
GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS June 30, 2018 — William Inniss (Age 34) will lead Rotary Central Cayman Islands during his term July 1 2018 – June 30 2019 as the club’s 32nd President.
William Inniss, a Major Donor, Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, Paul Harris Society and Bequest Society Member of the Rotary Foundation was installed as the 32nd President of Rotary Central, in official ceremonies held at the Wharf Restaurant. The occasion was witnessed by over 100 Rotarians, invited guests and officials from other service clubs in Grand Cayman.
Assistant District Governor, Past President and Charter Member of Rotary Central, ALT Thompson, guided the auspicious event as Master of Ceremonies, on Friday evening, June 22,2018.
The fourth Lady President of Rotary Central, Susie Bodden, delivered a heartfelt report of her Rotary year, going through the milestones of achievement, highlighting the actions undertaken through the various avenues of service, the continued success achieved in our fundraising through the Music Extravaganza and expanding Bus Shelter Program now to include Cayman Brac. The out-going President expressed pride in the continued flourish of our Early Act Club at St. Ignatius Catholic School and Rotaract Blue Clubs under the Rotary Central umbrella. The national success of the Annual Rotary Central Dr. Bill Hrudey Science Fair, Junior Achievement nextGen business leadership programme, the extension of our community health screening to including an overseas health screen adventure in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, RYLA and World Affairs Seminar Rotary Central Youth Ambassadors. Of special mention during her profound thanks to her Board of Directors, mention was made of the first installation of the only Mobi Beach Mat in the Caribbean that facilitates person with disabilities gaining access to the pleasure of Seven Mile Beach.
The Presidents Installation Oath was administered by incoming Assistant District Governor, and Past President of the Rotary Club, Grand Cayman, David Kirkaldy, followed by a Change of Regalia and Pins and the presentation of the Gavel, ceremony, guided by out-going Rotary Central Cayman President, Susie Bodden.
President William proceeded to effect the installation of his incoming Officers being: President Elect Colin Fawkes, 1st Vice President David Downes, 2nd Vice President Steve Tippetts, Secretary Jennifer Leach-Tippetts, Treasurer Paul Arbo, Sergeant-At-Arms Corleen Goodman. The Directors for 2018-2019 are: Past President Sandy Cram – Club Service, Sue Holmes – Community Service, Marzeta Bodden – International Service, Bob Donohue – Membership, Johnae Moss – Vocational Service, Khalesiah Barboram – Youth Service, and Carl Brown – Public Image.
“Be the Inspiration” is the new Rotary International theme heralded by recently installed President Barry Rassin who is a Past District 7020 Governor, hailing from the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. President Barry was installed during the Rotary Convention held in Toronto June 23-27 with a full contingent of Cayman Rotarians including Rotary Central President William.
