Rotary Central Named in Top Three Giving Clubs World Wide on Giving Tuesday
We are delighted to announce that Rotary Central Cayman Islands has been recognized by the Rotary Foundation in an official statement posted on Rotary.org :
Thank you for donating on Giving TuesdayThe Rotary Foundation received more than 1,100 gifts that totaled $321,000 on Giving Tuesday, 27 November. Donations came from clubs around the globe and will support projects in communities worldwide.
The Foundation would like to recognize the three clubs that gave the most on Giving Tuesday:
- Rotary Club of Carmel, Indiana, USA
- Rotary Club of Central Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands
- Rotary Club of Highlands, North Carolina, USA17-Jan-2019
We can be proud that we came in 2nd out of over 36,000 Rotary Clubs world wide – to donate the most to our foundation on Giving Tuesday.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since 2012, people from all over the world have given over $1 Billion to causes on #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
